World Adherence Day: A global call to action for better health outcomes

World Adherence Day: A global call to action for better health outcomes

Every year, millions of individuals struggle with maintaining adherence to their prescribed treatments, leading to poor health outcomes, increased mortality, and a growing burden on healthcare systems. Despite advancements in medicine, adherence rates remain alarmingly low—just 50% in high-income countries and even lower elsewhere. This widespread issue calls for a global, unified response.

On March 27, 2025, the World Heart Federation (WHF) and its partners will launch the first-ever World Adherence Day, a movement dedicated to raising awareness and mobilizing action to improve adherence to medical treatments and lifestyle changes.
